1) Legislation requires that an authorised representative must know their client before making any recommendations. However there is provision that in certain circumstances an Authorised Representative may supply limited advice.
2) If you are seeking limited advice of a particular nature you must make this known at the time of the interview and you should recognize that the recommendations will only relate to that limited advice being sought.
3) Where information has not been provided, the section in the client questionnaire has been noted as “client did not wish to disclose this information”. Clients will be asked to sign that they risk receiving advice that may not be appropriate to their overall needs and objectives.

Fee Schedule

What do these services cost?

All fees are payable to Charter Financial Planning.
Prior to the commencement of any of our services, a service agreement will be provided which will outline the services you have requested and the payment method agreed upon. The available payment options are outlined below and may be paid with your own funds or deducted from your investment.

Statement of Advice Fee:

A Fee for Service is payable for the provision of the services outlined above. Depending on your circumstances one of the following advice fees may be applicable:

  • $880 for basic strategies or
  • $1,650 for comprehensive strategies or
  • $1,980 for self-managed superannuation funds and advanced strategies
  • For any additional services or costs associated with additional research and/or strategy analysis an hourly rate of $165 per hour may apply.

Implementation Fee:

These costs cover the administrative time spent implementing the recommended strategies and products.
The sliding scale rate is based on the size of the portfolio under advice.

  • The first $1,000,000 is levied at 1.1%
  • The remaining balance is levied at 0%
  • Brokerage of 0.825% per trade is payable for all direct share transactions. A minimum fee of $55 applies.

Review Fee:

The review fee charged will be 0.88% per annum of the funds under management. A minimum of $825 (5 hours @ $165 per hour) will apply.

Note: Review fees may be tax deductible for income producing portfolios.

All fees disclosed are inclusive of GST.

Commission Fee:

Initial and ongoing commissions may be paid by fund managers and life companies in association with product recommendations. Where possible we will rebate in full any commission related to certain products, however this is not always possible e.g. insurance products.

These commissions may be as follows:

  • Insurance commissions are factored into the premium costs and range between 11% and 125% of the initial premium, and between 0% and 40% per annum of the renewal premium.
  • Ongoing commission is factored into the product costs for superannuation and investments and ranges between 0% and 0.80% per annum. It is generally calculated and paid based on the monthly investment balance.
  • Initial commissions of up to 10% may be payable for certain agribusiness investments.
    All applicable fees, commissions and/or brokerage will also be fully detailed in the statement of advice you receive. All fees disclosed are inclusive of Goods and Services Tax.

Service Agreement:

A Service Agreement will be completed by you and us to establish the level of service and the fee basis agreed upon. Once this is completed, we will develop your Statement of Advice.

All fees and/or commissions charged will be fully detailed in the Statement of Advice you receive. Where a Fee for Service is payable an invoice will also be included when you are provided with your Statement of Advice.
